Recommendation: Hot Spring (温泉)
1. Jigokudani Onsen (Nagano Prefecture)
This hot spring is famous
because of the cute and smart creatures, they are snow monkeys. You will be
able to enjoy dipping in the hot spring while looking at the snow monkeys
enjoying it too. And just like humans, the young monkeys usually play around in
the hot spring while the adult ones are likely to relax in the hot spring, as written in https://trip101.com/article/where-is-the-onsen-with-monkeys-quirky-onsens-to-enjoy-in-japan. So for
those who are curious about this place, you can go and check it out!
(Admission fees: Adults - 500 yen, children age 15 and under - 250 yen)

2. Kawayu Onsen (Wakayama Prefecture)
For those who want to enjoy
the hot spring which they choose themselves, then here’s the right place for
you. The unique thing about this place is that you get to dig anywhere along the
river to enjoy the hot bath. And then in winter, you get to enjoy the big bath
with approximately 1000 people dipping in the hot spring, as written in https://trip101.com/article/where-is-the-onsen-with-monkeys-quirky-onsens-to-enjoy-in-japan.

3.
Ice Onsen
(Shikaribetsu Lake, Hokkaido)
This place has a village on
the frozen lake. Here, you can enjoy igloos, ice bars, and ice onsen. You can
even wear your bathing robes or swimsuits here, as written in https://trip101.com/article/where-is-the-onsen-with-monkeys-quirky-onsens-to-enjoy-in-japan. Even though the outdoor onsen
is freezing cold, once you take a dip in the indoor hot spring, you will be
warmed up soon enough. But this place usually open from January until March, so
you can come here around that time of the year.

I would like to go to Ice Onsen. Because it's so interesting, we can feel the warmth of the onsen and we can also feel cold when we get up from onsen.
ReplyDeleteIce onsen would be great but kind of scared to get a cold after that hahahahha
ReplyDeleteAnd have an onsen with a monkey is a big NO for me right now because one thing and another
Yes, but the monkeys will stay calm if you don't disturb them :) I hope you get to choose the best trip with these recommendations. Thank you :)
DeleteVery interesting, especially the one with the Monkeys. I wonder if can bring a camera with me there. Also, it would be nice if you include the price of admission.
ReplyDeleteI've updated the price of admission. Thank you for the feedback :)
DeleteVery interesting, I wish there will be an onsen with penguins.
