Recommendation: Ski Resorts

1.       Tomamu Ski Resort (Central of Hokkaido)

This ski resort has many interesting things, including: well-maintained trails (from beginner until expert), terrain park, snow park, snow playground, and many more, as written in https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6845.html. This ski resort also provides other fun activities other than skiing and snowboarding, such as: snowmobiling, snow rafting, paraskiing, dog sledding, and many more. This is one of the resort that provide many facilities. It has hot spring (onsen), large indoor wave pool, and nice restaurants. There’s an illuminated village within this resort, named Ice Village. The Ice Village consists of constructed domes of snow and ice. It has wedding chapel, restaurant, bar, and shops.

2.       Zao Onsen Ski Resort (Yamagata Prefecture)

This resort is the combination of both onsen and ski resort. This place also has snow monsters, or ice trees. Access to these snow monsters are provided by ropes or gondola, as written in https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e7927.html. The snow monsters will be lit up when it’s night-time so we could enjoy the view from the café. The ski season usually start around early November and ends around early May.

3.       Furano Ski Resort (Hokkaido Prefecture)


This resort is suitable for family trips. This resort consists of two connected peaks, each offering tracks that have been used for World Cup races, as written in https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6830.html. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, this resort also provides family attractions, such as: snow-rafting, snowmobiling, etc. There are also lots of pensions and family-run lodgings (Western style), just like B&B, where you can relax all-day.

  3. I wish I can try it at least once in my life.. And it's amazing how there are hotels that high on the icy mountain (usually there are only inn & hotel with smaller size than that)..
