Recommendation: Places for Hanami (Flower Viewing)

1.       Hirosaki Castle (Northern part of Honshu Main Island)

This place is perfect for those who missed the early sakura bloom. Since it’s located on the northern part, the cherry blossom trees here bloom later than the southern part. This place is truly a heaven for those who missed the early sakura bloom. 2.       Shinjuku Gyoen (Shibuya, Tokyo)

Even though it’s located in the bustling city like Tokyo, here you can find a peaceful and relaxing time.  3.       Yoshino Mountain (Nara Prefecture)


This place is perfect for both hiking and sakura viewing. While hiking to the top of the mountain, you can also enjoy the view from cherry blossom trees all the way to the top. You can also find many food stalls here, especially in spring. However, I recommend you to visit this place when it’s not peak season. That way, you could enjoy the cherry blossoms while resting and warming up your body in the hot spring (onsen).
